Bettina Mehnert, President and CEO of Architects Hawaii Ltd., will be joining us to share insights from AHL’s nearly decade-long involvement in planning and design work tied to the new Oʻahu community correctional center. She’ll offer perspective on what it takes to navigate a complex, multi-year public project — and how architecture can influence rehabilitation, safety, and long-term community impact.

Sunrisers:The call has gone out for Judges for the 2026 Honolulu Speech Festival - It is a wonderful event and last year there was a shortage of judges so please sign up now if you can. The RSVP for judging is due December 1st.

This event serves as a celebration of the remarkable talents and abilities of our young students. Their performances are not only impressive but also reflective of the dedication and hard work they've put into honing their skills.

We warmly invite you to grace this occasion with your presence and to witness firsthand the incredible performances of our students. Your attendance would not only inspire our young participants but also provide them with valuable encouragement and positive feedback.

Please register for the event 2026 Speech Festival Judges by December 1, 2025.

Date: April 25th, 2026 

Times: Breakfast service starts at 7:00.  Volunteer judges training at about 7:30.  Judging to follow once students are in position.  After all judging is completed then we will have our closing ceremony at around 11:00.  

Where: William McKinley High School

Your presence would mean a great deal to us and to the young performers who eagerly anticipate showcasing their talents to distinguished guests such as yourselves.

Join us as we help pack food bags for our kūpuna at the Hawaii Foodbank. This is a wonderful opportunity to support our elderly community, and the activity is approachable for all.

This is a joint project with Metro Rotary.

Join us for a behind-the-scenes visit to the Lanakila Senior Center, where we’ll reconnect with a site we previously supported. With recent flooding impacting the facility, this is an opportunity to check in, see the work we’ve done, and explore how we might continue to support their programs for our kūpuna.

Share an aspect of your career with 2-3 classrooms, ranging from Kindergarten to 5th grade.

Family Promise of Hawaiʻi is a local nonprofit organization that helps low-income and homeless families with children achieve sustainable independence. They provide temporary housing, meals, and individualized case management by working with community partners and volunteers.
