At a bright and early 7 am on Friday October 16th, our new members met for their new member orientation at Big City Diner!! Welcome to our new members that were able to attend this event Jadence Goya, Virgil Stinnett, Katie Keim, Jimmy Rymer, and Megan Takagi.

Allen presented information about attendance, the dues structure and where the money is spent and clarified the differences between the RI foundation and the Honolulu Sunrise foundation, the Hawaii Rotary Youth Foundation, and that when we get recognized, we can contribute to any or all of them, and also to Polio Plus.

Allen explained that our fabulous club enjoys recognizing our members for their birthdays and achievements! He also took the time to share some of our traditions like taking Sunny, the chicken with us on trips, wearing Rotary pins, annual camping with Hoopono at Bellows, Calabash Mondays, Dutch lunch and Ethnic dinners, and the less jazzy procedures like signing in.

Most importantly our new members reviewed the Five Avenues of Service and some of our clubs ongoing projects, and other past projects that we have been involved with.

Overall, we hope they are all encouraged to get involved, because Rotary is what you make it, and the best way is by attending meetings and participating with our committees!
