Hawaii's Food and Energy Nexus

Hailing from a land Downunder, James has always felt a citizen of the world more than any one country.  A recovered computing professional, after a diverse 14 years in Arizona, James switched careers from code to global sustainability in 2008 using a nice severance package from Wells Fargo Bank.   Moving to Hawai’i in 2011 to help with the booming solar energy industry, he again became deeply involved with life and local communities here.  As well as the energy/water nexus not discussed in Hawai’i, we are already in a dangerous situation with the energy/food nexus.   James will give a quick overview of “solar farming” and how this is and will impact real farming and local food in Hawai’i.
