Read to Me International

Feb 10, 2025 7:15 AM

Read To Me International has a simple yet profound mission and a few goals which guide it. It believes that as stakeholders and communities come together to address the literacy needs of children, they will realize the importance of reading aloud to children as a simple but effective way of raising children who value and love reading.

Executive Director

Dannah Barnes, MBA

Dannah Barnes graduated from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa’s Shidler College of Business in 2018. Before joining the organization, she served as Regional Area Marketing Partner in a for-profit company and as Director of Development at two health non-profit organizations. At Read To Me International Foundation, Dannah has led the organization as Executive Director for over two years and her greatest joy is creating joyful story-time moments with keiki. She also enjoys sharing read-alouds tips that help parents and caregivers overcome the barriers to reading aloud each day. As a child, Dannah was read to by her parents and would often visit the library with her aunty. Her aunty would also create fun activities that paired with the books she read. Dannah appreciates how special story time was as a child and is excited to pay it forward every day.
